16th July 2013, Montreux. Silvan Zingg presented the highlights of the history of boogie woogie & blues piano, including his interpretation at the grand piano of music pieces by legendary pianists like Jimmy Yancey, Albert Ammons, Clarence Pinetop Smith, Pete Johnson, Meade Lux Lewis, Charles "Cow Cow" Davenport. On the screens rare photo and movie material was showing. Although today most people don't know these artists, it's important to mention that the rock and pop music have their roots in this 1930's music genre. Presenting this journey into early twentieth Century music in the Chalet d'en bas, where all the archives of the festival (UNESCO worldheritage) are exhibited was a very special moment. At the end Silvan Zingg dedicated a emotional blues to Fesival founder Claude Nobs (1936-2013).
